The fire alarm went off in the architecture dept. and the lecturer was furious at how I took the time to grab what I deem important..
“WHAT are you doing? Save your life!” she shouted.
Dramatically I grabbed all my drawings, models and everything else that my two tiny hands could carry,
“THIS IS my life!”
I proceeded to the nearest exit (secretly wishing there was a big fire) and saw the anxious faces of people who left their ‘lives’ in the studio. This is what architecture school does to you – your priority is shifted and even your life is not as important as that 5 hours worth of drawing/model-making.
